Congratulations Keith, from all your mates here at Keith Urban mates...We could be more happier excited and proud.
For so many years now, I have watched these awards in anticipation that the name they called out , when they opened the envelope, would be Keith Urban. Then to not hear that name, always left me feeling so down and low, that I couldn't understand , why he wasn't being recognized..
Well seems there is a time and place for everything, and this is the time for Keith Urban at long last.
Many of the older fans,know the struggle and the disappointment that happened before this past year.
So the fact that Keith is getting recognition at last...has us swelling with emmense pride and happiness.

URBAN THRILLED WITH LATE NIGHT HONOUR
Australian country star KEITH URBAN was rewarded for staying up late last night (17MAY05) - with a Best Album prize.
After his BE HERE album was named the year's best at the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS in Las Vegas, Nevada, the singer was beamed live via satellite after performing in Belfast, Ireland.

The thrilled star said, "It's like 20 to two in the morning and this is, like, the best wake-up call I've ever had."

I am sorry to inform you all , that it won't be, It�s not cleared to air outside of North America. But they do hope to have it in 2006.

AP - Australian Keith Urban has won the best album honour at the prestigious Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.
Urban accepted the award for Be Here by satellite from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
"I'm blown away," Urban said. "It's like 20 to 2 in the morning, but this is the best wake-up call I've ever had."

Great American Country Gains Re-Broadcast Rights to ACM Awards
Great American Country has secured the exclusive rights to broadcast encore presentations of the 40th Annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards that aired live from Las Vegas on Tuesday evening on CBS.
GAC will air the first encore presentation of the awards show on Tuesday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Additional air dates are set for September and October.

"This year marked the milestone 40th anniversary of the Academy of Country Music Awards, but it's also a first. It's the first time we've worked with GAC on a significant partnership," said Bob Romeo, executive director of the Academy of Country Music. "The Academy has always been about building strong relationships, and certainly this will be one."

GAC secured the licensing for the annual awards show through dick clark productions, which produces the program for the academy. GAC will be the only network to rebroadcast the show.

"The annual Academy of Country Music Awards are very popular among country music fans and well respected by the artists and labels, so securing the re-air rights is significant for GAC. It fits perfectly with our mission to be the leaders in country music television programming," said Sarah Trahern, the network's vice president of programming. "We expect our encore presentations to draw a sizeable audience of viewers who missed the CBS broadcast, or who were so entertained they want to watch it again."

Urban Tops Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart
Keith Urban�s "Making Memories of Us" sits on top of the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. The single is Urban�s sixth number one and the second one from his current album, Be Here.

Urban is crowned king of U.S. country

AUSTRALIA'S Keith Urban has taken the top album award for Be Here at the U.S. Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.

Newlywed Kenny Chesney took entertainer of the year honours.

"I'm blown away," Urban said via satellite from Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he is touring. "It's like 20 to two in the morning, but this is the best wake-up call I've had."

Urban, who was nominated for four awards, also was named male vocalist of the year.

Chesney's win over leading nominee Tim McGraw came just eight days after his surprise marriage to U.S. actress Renee Zellweger.

Keith was interviewed about his new album on The Album Chart Show with Simon Mayon on BBC Radio 2 on Monday 16th May.
