Keith Urban's 3rd annual "Max it Out" benefit concert for spinal meningitis research on January, raised over
270,000 dollars.

Artists performing at the benefit, held at Nashville's "Rocketown" included: Keith, Radney Foster, Katrina Elam, Richard Marx, Tim Mcgraw, Faith Hill, Montgomery Gentry, Lee Ann Womack, Leann Rimes and Wynonna.

FUN INCIDENT At one point in the benefit, Keith personally called the winner of a custom 357 chopper motorcycle. When he asked for the woman who won, her husband answered answered and apparently didn't like another man calling his lady and hung up on Urban, reports countrynation.com. The second lady he called answered the phone and was thrilled by the prize. With any luck the wife of the man that hung up on will never find out he hung up on Keith Urban and the chance to win a cool ride, otherwise he'll be toast.

Urban, Fogerty Visit Crossroads
Fri. January 21.2005 6:05 PM EST

Keith Urban and John Fogerty took the stage Thursday night (Jan. 20) at Union Station in Los Angeles to tape the latest installment of CMT Crossroads. The Aussie sensation and the legendary singer-songwriter found much common ground in their music, taking obvious delight in collaborating on four Urban tunes, including hits "Somebody Like You" and "Days Go By." The pair also offered up six Fogerty songs, rockin' out on classics such as "Bad Moon Rising" and "Down on the Corner." Urban --who told CMT News he grew up listening to his parents' Creedence Clearwater Revival records -- said playing with Fogerty was "quite surreal." Fogerty called Urban "an incredible guitar player, great singer and incredible songwriter," adding "and he's so good looking." The Crossroads concert debuts on Feb. 19.

GRAMMY AWARDS
FEBRUARY 15TH 2005ustralian country superstar Keith Urban was chased out of town by Loretta Lynn and Tim McGraw at the 47th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles today.
Urban, with two nominations, had been Australia's best bet, but he went home empty-handed.
"As a kid growing up back in Australia, I never thought I'd ever have a chance to be here," Urban said on the green carpet before the Grammy ceremony began at LA's Staples Centre.
The 37-year-old was raised on a five-hectare farm near Caboolture north of Brisbane.
He is now one of Nashville's biggest stars and was nominated for best country album, the platinum selling Be Here, and male country vocal performance, for his song You'll Think of Me.

TRIBUTE TO SOUTHERN ROCK
The tribute to Southern rock may have come out of left field, but the matching of Gretchen Wilson, Keith Urban and Tim McGraw with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elvin Bishop, and Dickey Betts at least proved energetic. By the end of Sweet Home Alabama, there was almost enough hair flying to seem like 1974 all over again.

Review: Urban delights crowd on first of three-night Ryman run

(TO READ AND SEE PHOTOS FROM THIS EVENT CLICK ON PHOTO)

By PETER COOPER
Staff Writer

On Thursday, the first night of Keith Urban's unprecedented (in modern times, anyway) three-night run at the Ryman Auditorium, cynics might have been forgiven for thinking that the room would be filled in large part with Music Row insiders who were there via freebie tickets.

Forgiven, sure, but also wrong. Urban's sold-out crowd was comprised of little girls wearing pink cowboy hats, big girls in halter tops, a grown man wearing a homemade ''if it ain't country it ain't music'' T-shirt and a Morton, Miss., woman named Rebecca Baker who said, ''He's the only guy I'll travel for, other than Bon Jovi.''

And, make no mistake, these people loved what they saw and heard. Urban's audience doesn't applaud so much as shriek. This may be due in part to his status as the dreamy, lunch-boxable Keith Partridge of country music. But it's also because Urban delivers a consistently entertaining, high energy, hit-packed show with enough guitar heroics to satisfy the six-string crowd and melodies hooky enough to hang a suit on.

CMT To Debut New Keith Urban Video on Television
Keith Urban's video for his new single "Making Memories Of Us," from his platinum album Be Here, will make its world broadcast premiere this week on CMT's "Top 20 Countdown" on March 24 at 6 p.m. EST/PT. The video will then enter into the music channel's coveted "Hot Shot" video rotation after the broadcast premiere. It was first unveiled last week on AOL.
"Making Memories of Us" was shot on a bare bones soundstage in Hollywood by Chris Hicky, who has shot footage for previous Urban videos including "You'll Think of Me" and "Days Go By," as well as, studio footage during the recording of Urban's latest album Be Here. The black and white video captures the straightforward honesty of the song, written by Rodney Crowell.

Additionally, Urban will be featured on this week's CMT Insider. Urban spoke with "Insider" host Katie Cook during his sold-out three night run at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The first airing of this week's "CMT Insider" is Saturday, March 26th, 1:30 p.m. EST/PT.

Urban is nominated for three CMT Music Awards including Best Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year for "Days Go By" and Hottest Video of the Year for "You're My Better Half." The CMT Music Awards will be held on April 11th in Nashville. Urban is also nominated for four ACM awards including Single Record of the Year ("Days Go By"), Album of the Year (Be Here), Top Male Vocalist of the Year and the Entertainer of the Year, all of which will be announced during the award presentations on May 17th in Las Vegas.

KEITH TAKES ON ENGLAND AND EUROPE!
He came he saw he conquered

You have to understand, that here in the UK, to get a country music artist over
here is amazing, to get keith is truly unreal.
TV coverage, radio play, is almost non existent.
We knew before hand that Keith was the support act for Bryan Adams,we knew 30
minutes would be it.
What we didnt realise is, just how unfair it would be to Keith,
This is the cma vocalist of the year, grammy  nominated, how many cd sales, etc etc
etc etc.
his monkey flag was in place, when we got into the arena, so we were well up for it.

He was announced as keith urban.  full stop, nothing else. Even the video screens
were not turned on for the support artsite, shame on them.
Anyways, we had a good view, we sweet talked the stewards and they let us right down
the front, cos keith was the support act.
We had taken along a banner, cos we know this is the normnal thing to do in the USA.
We wanted the guy to know he had fans there. We even threw flowers at him, just to
let him know, people were actually there just for him.
Before he had uttered a word, his first ever time perfoming in Europe
. he has seen, smiled, pointed at the banner, and knew he was among at least a few
friendly faces.

The Bryan Adams fans.which surronded us, thought we were mad. Waving the banner
around and screaming for a support act; They soon found out for themselves, just
what a brilliant musican this man is.

After Keiths set, they were asking, who is the guy, whats the name of the band, what
is the best cd of his to buy?

He started with Days go By. and finished with Somebody like you. in between we had
Making Memories of us, and the most brillaint live performance of Raining on Sunday.
You look good in my shirt, and his up tempo material. covered the rest of his spot.

I am one of the lucky ones, keith is doing a one off show in London, headlining, and
i have a ticket. This will be totally awesome. keith doing at least 60 minutes, the
norm is 90.

Again the promoters have vastly underestimated him
So big has been the demand for keith, that the nec at one point, in the box office,
said who is this Keith Urban, thats all people are phoning up about,
This prompted the promoters to try a  small one off gig for keith, see how it went.
the tickets sold out within 2 days, so they moved it to a bigger venue, and once
again the tickets sold out.

and now if keith is correct, we have a full tour to look forward to in October,
This can only mean a big big things for the UK. Keith will sell out, there is no
doubt, and then maybe, promoters will realise that there is a market for live
country music, at its very top level. And here in the UK we will get the chance to
see the top acts from the states perform on our shores.
