J A N U A R Y _2 0 0 5 _H I G H L I G H T S Keith Urban's 3rd annual Max it Out benefit concert for spinal meningitis research on January 22, 2005 raised over 270,000 dollars! Artists performing at the benefit, held at Nashville's Rocketown included: Keith Urban, Radney Foster, Katrina Elam, Richard Marx, Tim Mcgraw, Faith Hill, Montgomery Gentry, LeeAnn Womack, LeAnn Rimes, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, and Wynonna Judd. At one point in the benefit, Keith personally called the winner of a custom 357 chopper motorcycle. When he asked for the woman who won, her husband answered answered and apparently didn't like another man calling his lady and hung up on Urban, reports countrynation.com. The second lady he called answered the phone and was thrilled by the prize. With any luck the wife of the man that hung up on will never find out he hung up on Keith Urban and the chance to win a cool ride, otherwise he'll be toast. |
T H E _I N S P I R A T I O N Max, was born a perfectly healthy baby. When he was 6 weeks old, he caught a "bug" that turned into meningitis. Meningitis is a disease where a germ gets into the spinal cord and brain. Any germ can cause meningitis. It is unknown why the body allows the germ to pass into the spinal fluid and another does not. Max’s immune system was simply too immature and vulnerable to fight the vicious bacteria. He spent 7 weeks at the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. He is now 3 years old left with visual impairments, brain damage, diabetes insipidus, has a feeding tube and extremely delayed motor skills. |
